Saipem has secured approximately $930 million in new contracts from Eni, led by engineering, procurement, construction and installation work on the third development phase of the Baleine oil and gas field offshore Ivory Coast, in water depths of up to 1,300 metres.

The offshore scope covers subsea production infrastructure, flowlines, risers and umbilicals needed to support the next phase of Baleine’s development, with construction expected to take about three years using Saipem’s FDS and Shen Da vessels. The remaining portion of the award covers a new deoxygenation unit at Eni subsidiary Enilive’s biorefinery in Venice, Italy, aimed at boosting hydrotreated vegetable oil biofuel production.

Saipem said the awards, which follow the Baleine Phase 3 final investment decision, deepen its long-standing relationship with Eni across both conventional offshore projects and energy transition work.
