Angola has reaffirmed its commitment to attracting private capital into its oil and gas industry, with the government stressing that private partnerships remain essential to sustaining production, expanding exploration and meeting the country’s long-term energy ambitions.
Minister of Mineral Resources, Petroleum and Gas Diamantino Azevedo told industry stakeholders that Angola remains open to both domestic and international investors, and that the government is focused on keeping the investment climate stable, transparent and competitive across the upstream, midstream and downstream segments.
Ongoing reforms, including competitive licensing rounds and fiscal incentives, are designed to extend the life of mature fields while encouraging exploration in frontier basins, part of a broader strategy to keep Angola among Africa’s leading energy producers. The country is also accelerating development of its natural gas sector, with new investment in gas processing, refining and downstream industries expected to strengthen energy security and support industrialisation.
Azevedo said continued collaboration between government and private investors, along with a strong push on local content, employment and technology transfer, would be key to advancing new projects and ensuring the sustainable development of Angola’s energy sector.
