Repsol has reported improved performance in its exploration and production business for the first half of 2026, helped by rising output and progress on projects in several countries including Libya.

The company said Libya awarded it two new exploration blocks in the country’s first licensing round in almost two decades, strengthening its position in the Libyan market alongside its operations in Alaska and Brazil. Repsol posted adjusted net income of €673 million from exploration and production in the first half of the year, with average production rising to 558,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day in the second quarter; it expects full-year 2026 output to range between 560,000 and 570,000 barrels per day.
